Rally legend Simo Lampinen tells about how the racing world Rauno Aaltonen, Pauli Toivonen and Timo Mäkinen took over the rally world in the 1960s and 1970s.
In the 1960s, Finns started to rally the international rally arenas in a luminous way.
One of the big names was Simo Lampinen, who was backing the start of the Finnish Rally Championship in the “Bensa Suon” section of the Sports Finland program.
– It was in a happy situation that we had a lot of racing in Europe. And of course, the sugar on the base of Monte Carlo. We had the benefit of being part of this snowshoe, says Lampinen.
