In the Rally SM series this year, second place in the SM1 category, Emil Lindholm is replacing the equipment. Lindholm together with his map reader Mikael Korhonen will compete in 2019 with Volkswagen’s new Polo R5.
This year, Emil Lindholm, 22, will continue in the SM-series of the Rally SM1 and four-wheeler in the wheelhouse, and will continue next season at Marcus Grönholm’s GRX team. The car will change even when this year the SM-silver in the Skoda Fabia R5 car will be replaced by Volkswagen’s new Polo R5 car, which was debut in the Spanish rally in October.
– Emil’s probation period came to an end. I believe in his chances of compelling Volkswagen with good results and profits. Both the driver and the new Volkswagen have a lot of potential, Grönholm believes.
The Lindholm program for the next season will include six races in the SM series of seven races, and the Espoo will also be seen in the Volkswagen Racing World Championships in Sweden and Finland. Overcoming the Swedish World Rally with Kouvola’s SM rally prevents full SM series driving.
– Again a significant step in my career forwards. Top car and management team in the background. I thank Marcus and all members of the GRX Team for this opportunity. It’s an awkward thing to do in their colors, Lindholm glows.
The Rally SM Series will be launched at the Arctic Lapland Rally, the last weekend of January, at the Tunturiralli, in the Rovaniemi area.
